Issue Two synopsis revealed!

‘Cuz we know you’re dying to know…

A mysterious artifact known as “the Fragment” has fallen into the hands of an evil priestess named Mama Shadow. She would rather sell it to the highest bidder than keep it for herself, and she’s found a willing taker who has named his price at $4 million.  Meanwhile, the Night Watchman and Nora investigate Jenny’s murder as best they can and encounter trouble after trouble along the way…  Oh, and in case you haven’t guessed, Serena gets a job at the coffee shop.

Be sure to check our Issue Two page regularly for updates and more sneak peeks!

Issue One now on iTunes!

This happened last week, but what with everything else that happened last week (two festivals, a hurricane, y’know…), we didn’t post about it.  Anywho, we are very pleased to announce that Lush Comics has widened its reach in the digital landscape and put Issue One up on iTunes.  Click here to get yourself a copy; it’s only $0.99!

The donation has been made!

We are pleased to announce that our fundraiser for the Food Bank For New York City was a success.  A big success.  A HUGE success.  We would like to thank all the folks who supported us online and at BCGF this past week.  With your support, we were able to raise $623.00 to relieve hunger in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  Thank you very much…and we hope you enjoy the comics.

BCGF today!

The Brooklyn Comics & Graphics Festival is today!  Come out to Mt. Carmel Church at N. 8th & Havemeyer in Williamsburg, BK and find us seated at table D24.  We’re sharing a table with the incredible Hellen Jo (Jin & Jam) as well as Gregory Mackay (Francis Bear) who will be on hand to relieve Dave as he gets antsy / hungry / uncomfortable with smelly hipsters.

We’ll be premiered these fine items right here (further info available on our shop page).  And, of course, we’ll be donating 100% of sales to the Food Bank For New York City (see below).

Comics for a cause

Hello Friends,

Next Saturday, the Brooklyn Comics & Graphics Festival will take place in Williamsburg, BK.  We’re very excited to be a part of it and hope you will be able to join us in attending.  In light of the destruction caused by Sandy, Lara and I have elected to donate 100% of our sales revenue for the day to the Food Bank for New York City who are presently assisting those in need across the Five Boroughs.  We will also match our revenue 100% in a personal donation.  That means we will make a donation twice as large as the amount we make at BCGF.

We know there are some folks who do not live anywhere near NYC and will not be able to make it.  If you’re interested in supporting our efforts, we’ll also be donating 100% of sales generated by online orders starting today and ending midnight November 10th (the day of BCGF).  This includes Etsy and Lush Comics (if you wish to buy Issue One digitally).

Aside from just wanting to help out, we are excited to announce that we have four brand-spankin’-new pieces for sale that will debut at BCGF!  They are:

All of these items are up for sale starting today on our shop but will not ship until after BCGF as that is where they officially premier.  We’ll make our donation Monday, November 12th.

Thanks so much for your support and we hope to see you all at BCGF, table D24!

Sincerely,
Dave & Lara

In the wake of tragedy…

As you know, NYC has had a rough week.  In spite of it all, there are many positive things happening to keep people going and engaged with the community.  Over the next two weekends, the city of Brooklyn will play host to TWO small press comic festivals:  King Con and Brooklyn Comics & Graphics Festival.  Both events are FREE with King Con asking for a suggested donation.  We encourage you to support both events as they will exhibit many local and regional artists.  Your patronage will not only support the many great people involved but the local economy as well.
